Abstract

ABSTRACTPollinator Bat Identification Based on Pollen as Feed Resources at LinggarjatiDistrict-Ciremai National Park, West Jawa. Pollen identification that used for feedresources by six species of frugivorous bats from Ciremai National Park was identifiedunder microscope. The results shown that are known 21 species as important plants forbats and in the contrast possibly for bats as pollinator. By the principle componentanalysis and cluster grouping based on Euclidian distance indicated that Aethalops alecto,Chironax melanocephalus as important polinator role in primary forest and high in elevationlevel, C. brachyotis and Macroglossus sobrinus in secondary or fragmented forest andMegaerops kusnotoi in lower primary forest and Cynopterus tittacheilus is important rolefor intermediate area between primary and secondary forest and at lower elevation range.On the niche overlaps analysis indicated that the highest overlaps were known in C.brachyotis and M. sobrinus (0.881) but the lowest in niche overlaps between M. sobrinusand C. melanocephalus (0.288)Key words: pollen, bats, feed resources

Abstract

ABSTRACTSeren Taun Ceremony at Cigugur, Kuningan District, West Jawa: TraditionalCeremonial For Environment Conservation. Human being couldn’t be separatedfrom the environment, but in reality the damage of the land is precisely caused by humanbehavior. The reason of this is that people don’t have good relationship with the surroundingenvironment. Following this logic, with participatory observation I have done it in February4 until 15th, 2004, the indigenous people with their tradition have their own way toconserve the land. They have a ritual tradition that can be used as a means of educationfor their adherent. Furthermore, ritual traditions also show the nearness of emotionalrelationship between human and the environment.Keywords: environtment, ritual tradition, Cigugur Kuningan

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe Stone Geology Structure of Ciremai Mountain West Jawa. A Middle to LateMiocene rocks association around the Ceremai Volcano, namely the Cinambo, Cantayanand Bantarujeg Formations is a deep marine sediment that physiographically belongs tothe Bogor Zone. As a submarine fan system, this turbidite sediment has already progradedto the north. The provenance of sediments is a landmass that occupied the southern partof the deep basin. Shallowing of the basin during Late Tertiary is roled by Plioceneclaystone forming of the Subang, Kaliwangu and Citalang Formations. The claystonewas deposited in a middle neritic to fluviatile environment. During the early Quaternarytime the deep basin has totally become a landmass and the building of Ceremai Volcanowas started. The difference kind of rocks will influence chemical composition of soil,and the diversity of vegetation is possibly implied by this phenomenon.Key words: stone. structure, geology, ciremai

Abstract

ABSTRACTHerpetofaunal Community Structure of Ciremai Mountain National Park, WestJava. Distribution and broad habitat associations of the herpetofauna on four limitedsites of Ciremai mountain, west Java, Indonesia were studied. The field surveys wereconducted on Apuy-Arban site from 7 until 21 April 2006 and from 6 until 10 March2007, Linggarjati site from 10 until 15 February 2007 and from 19 May until 2 June2007, Seda forest from 18 until 24 February 2007 and Palutungan site from 26 Februaryuntil 4 March 2007. A variety of methods were employed to sample the herpetofauna. Atotal of 43 amphibians and reptiles taxa were recorded, comprising 16 frogs, 18 lizardsand 9 snakes. Two of them were endemic to Java, they are Huia masonii and Microhylaachatina. Unidentified and possibly undescribed species of unusual specimen referred tothe genus Elapoidis. From this study, three habitat were clustered and divided into twomain habitat zones for herpetofauna.Key words: amphibians, reptiles, gunung Ciremai.

Abstract

ABSTRACTProtected Area and Conservation Strategy of Ciremai Mountain. The Ciremai MountainWest Jawa as one of the important water catchments area and as water supplier area forMajalengka, Kuningan, Cirebon, Indramayu district in West Jawa provice and part of Brebesdistrict in Central Jawa Province. In order to uphold its function in storing water resources, itis important to understand the protected area of Ceremai Mountain. The protected area wasestablished on its altitude, elevation, and type of soil of about 22,600 ha. 15,410 ha or 68.20%of this area has been recovered, including 8,320 ha of Ceremai Mountain National Park.Reforestation of the ex-pinus area was necessary to increase water reservation. Besides thatCeremai Mountain National Park was needed to be managed with agro forestry.Keywords: protected area, Ciremai, storing water resources

Abstract

ABCTRACTThe Ecology of Landsnail in Ciremai National Park. Twice fieldworks in order tocollect landsnails of Ciremai National Park were conducted, approximately in ArgamuktiVillage of western part of the park and Linggajati Village of eastern part of the park.They resulted 48 species of landsnails of 15 families. Thirty two species were found inArgamukti whereas 28 species were found in Linggajati. However, biodiversity indexescomparison for both locations were unsignificant at 95% level of confidence. Bothlocations were also populated by specific landsnails, only 40% of the whole landsnailswere live in Argamukti and Linggajati. The highest densities in entire locations weredominated by microsnails and mostly were live in lower latitude. Cluster analysis forspecies and habitat used NTSYSpc 2.10p. programs for Jaccard similarity index revealed6 groups of species and habitats respectively.Keywords: ecology, landsnail, biodiversity, density, cluster

Abstract

ABSTRACTSmall mammal community in various habitats at Apuy track and Linggarjati trackof Gunung Ciremai National Park. Distribution of small mammals at Apuy track(west slope) and Linggarjati track (east slope) of Gunung Ciremai National Park arecorrelated with their habitats. Traps, mist nets and observational methods were conductedto record small mammals from seven different habitats. To interpret such patterns, weconducted cluster analysis based on Jaccard index of similarity resulting five distinctgroups. Species diversity for each habitat differs significantly indicating great diversitydifferences between habitats. Common species appear to occupy disturbed area alongthe habitats examined, where as rare species tend to associate with more distinctivehabitat types. The results seem to suggest that forest may still consitute an substantialcomponent for the preservation of small mammals.Key words: ciremai, small mammals, habitat, distribution, zoning.

Abstract

ABSTRACTCommunity Structure of Longicorn Beetles Fauna (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae)At Gunung Ciremai National Park. Longicorn beetles (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae)are useful for assessment of recovery of forest insect fauna, because mostly speciesfeed on woody plants and are expected to increase in number and diversity along withdevelopment of the forest. The longicorn beetles were collected at the Gunung CiremaiNational Park (GCNP) area, at Apuy track (Western part of GCNP) during three weeksin April 2006 and Linggarjati track (Eastern part of GCNP) also during three weeks inMay-June 2007. These beetles were collected by Malaise, Light, Artocarpus branchtraps (Bundled twigs of jack fruits tied onto a tree stem) and active collecting by sweeping,beating and handling methods. The specimens collected totally 184 individu, (38 species)which 12 species were noted found at Gunung Halimun Salak National Park (GHSNP)distributed at 1000-1300 meter above sea level.In the research we found Acalolepta rusticatrix, Epepeotes luscus and Pterolophiamelanura that known as a common species of Cerambycid or longhorn beetles inKalimantan and Java, were found in the research activities, caused these species foundat many places including at Bogor Botanical Garden. In GCNP, we did not find Nyctimeniusochraceovittata as indicator for relatively less disturbed forest in Kalimantan, otherwisewe find Nyctimenius varicornis mostly find in all study site at GCNP, that is possible asindicator for relatively less disturbed forest in Java. In GCNP, we find Gnoma longicollisas a cerambycid beetle for natural forest indicator. In the paper show the comparativediversity study between traps (collecting methods) and study site (habitat and altitude).Key word: Cerambycidae, Ciremai, struktur komunitas
